From tasty wines to a variety of events hosted on their grounds, Broken Bottle Winery is a stop you’ll want to take. 
  2. Fawn Creek Winery: situated in Wisconsin Dells, about 20 miles southwest of Montello, this winery has a rustic tasting room where visitors can sample their wines made from locally grown grapes. The winery also offers tours, events, and live music.
  3. Vines & Rushes Winery: located in Ripon, WI, about 30 miles east of Montello, this winery offers tastings of their award-winning wines made from cold-climate grapes grown on site. The winery also features a vineyard, a wine bar, and a gift shop.
  4. Wollersheim Winery: situated in Prairie du Sac, WI, about 40 miles southwest of Montello, this winery is one of the oldest and most respected in the state. Visitors can take a tour of the vineyard and winery, sample their award-winning wines, and enjoy stunning views of the Wisconsin River.
  5. Armstrong Apples Orchard & Winery: located in Campbellsport, WI, about 70 miles southeast of Montello, this winery produces fruit wines and hard ciders made from apples and other fruits grown on site. Visitors can taste the wines and ciders, as well as pick their own apples in the fall.
11 - Take a walking tour of Montello
The walking tour on the Muir Boyhood Home website takes visitors through the childhood home and surroundings of famous naturalist and conservationist John Muir. The tour includes both indoor and outdoor stops, with exhibits and artifacts showcasing Muir's life and legacy. Visitors can see the room where Muir was born, as well as his family's farm and the nearby woods where he spent much of his time exploring and developing his love for nature.
